Island Beach State Park is a
long and narrow peninsula south of Seaside Heights and Seaside Park in Ocean County.
I drove down to the New Jersey shore (from Essex County) with a friend on
an unseasonably warm 50-degree day in late December. As expected, the
nearby beach towns were deserted and we enjoyed partaking in some photography
and "nature time" on the beach by ourselves.
Maybe New Jersey deserves a "bad rap" for some things
(then again, maybe not!), but no one can argue that New Jersey's miles and miles
of beautiful coastline is a treasure to our region.
